  • Beer Pong on Wii by Midway

Miniature, novelty-size website The Bit Blog says they've uncovered some dirt on Konami's and Midway's E3 lineups, and amidst the expected DDR updates is a bit about an "indoor sports" game that Midway is prepping for Wii, which will feature a game called "ping cup."

A Indoor Sports game for the Wii

       * Including darts, shuffle board, bowling, pool and other games

Some Midway games were also revealed including the rebirth of the Cruis’n series for the Wii features licensed games and 12 cities and a Midway indoor sports game for the Wii featuring Darts, table hockey, trivia, ping cup and many more minigames

"Ping cup"? Sounds to me like beer pong, sport of kings. This kind of reminds me of how Nintendo's Club House Games featured the card games "***" and "Bullshit," only they were renamed to "President" and "I Doubt It."

  • Team Ninja considering Ninja Gaiden for Wii

Team Ninja full of Wii fans. Title would need to offer something unique.

Speaking to Pro-G at a Ninja Gaiden press event in London yesterday, producer and director, Yosuke Hayashi commented on the possibility of the much loved series making its way to the Wii.

"We would make something for the Wii if we came up with something unique that would only work on the Wii," said Hayashi when asked about a Wii version of the hardcore action title. "There are several groups within Team Ninja. The PS3 group, the Xbox 360 group, and there are Wii fans in Team Ninja."

For our full interview with Yosuke Hayashi and hands-on impressions of Ninja Gaiden Sigma on PS3 check back next week.

  • Rumor Back: Wii Remote Blue - Inventory Screen

There's been plenty of speculation about different color wiimotes being sold by nintendo, I think it's only a matter of time until this happens.  Check out this inventory shot,  now what to do with the other 4 white ones we all have?

Here's the shot of the argos internal system clearly shows that a blue Wiimote has a SKU in its inventory.

  • Rumor: Big Names Leaving Nintendo

Now that the June deadline date for Nintendo of America staff has reared its head, the fallout from Nintendo’s Sales and Marketing move has been leaked. According to our sources, approximately 90% of the Nintendo of America Sales and Marketing Staff has decided not to make the move to either San Francisco or New York, thereby taking a severance and leaving the company.

Three key executives will be leaving Nintendo of America, including Senior Director of Public Relations Beth Llewelyn; Vice President, Marking and Corporate Affairs Perrin Kaplan; and Senior Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Communications George Harrison. When these three will actually depart the company is unknown at this time, however, we’re betting on the fact that they’ll stay with Nintendo of America until the upcoming E3 show is over.

  • Wii 2.0 with DVD playback

There's a rumor doing the rounds that a second version of the Wii will include DVD playback for movies, said to release in the US later in the year. The source is apparently a Nintendo rep who gave the info away in a phone conversation. Sounds dubious to me!
  • No online until 2008 for 3rd party

Man I wish Mario Party 8 was online ready.  The president of SNK America, Ben Herman has stated Nintendo are still not letting 3rd parties in on Wii online development. He says it's unlikely they'll get the go-ahead until the beginning of 2008. A let down?
  • External Hard Disk for Wii

A game zine in Japan called GameLabo claims Wii might have another storage option available to it soon, namely an external hard disk. They say Nintendo held a meeting on the subject only a few days ago. Useful perhaps for downloadable demos?
